In spite of almost 75 years of independence, we are still considered as a developing country and not a developed one. But what went wrong? In all these years of independence, India has achieved some remarkable feats and yet there are areas in which we have not performed so well. What is holding India back? India is unique in many aspects. It is certainly quite different from western countries like the US, Europe etc. It is very difficult to implement textbook strategies in Indian conditions. चन्‍द्रशेखर संगोई sipmlewords48@gmail.com कुछ दिनों पहले ही कोरोना की वैक्सीन बनने में हो रही देरी के विषय में जानने के लिए मैंने इंटरनेट पर गहनता से अध्‍ययन किया। मुझे यह जानकारी मिली की किसी भी वैक्सीन अथवा महामारी की दवाई का निर्माण कार्य बहुत ही जटिल अवस्थाओं से गुजरता है। किसी महामारी की वैक्सीन के निर्माण का समय प्राय: 8 से 10 वर्षो में होता है। लेकिन महामारी की आज की परिस्थितियों को देखकर विश्‍व के बहुत से देशो ने साथ मिलकर काम करते हुए लगभग 1 साल के अन्‍दर वैक्सीन खोजने का लश्र्य रखा है।       सेंटर फॉर डिजीज कंट्रोल एंड प्रिवेंशन के अनुसार किसी भी वैक्‍सीन या दवाई के विकास का क्रम 6 अवस्थाओं में पूरा होता है। वै‍क्‍सीन एंव दवाई के विकास की प्रत्‍येक अवस्‍था का पूरा लेखा-जोखा तैयार किया जाता है। यह लेखा-जोखा भारत में CTRI ( क्‍लीनीकल ट्रायल रजिस्‍ट्री ) पर दर्ज होता है जो समय समय पर सरकार द्वारा नियत रेगुलेटरी अथॉरिटी CDSCO ( सेन्‍ट्रल ड्रग्स स्‍टेर्न्‍डड कन्‍ट्रोल ऑरगेनाइज़ेशन) द्वारा निरिक्षण किया जाता है
