Image
- Pratik Badgujar 3 minute read Teaching has always been considered a noble profession all over the world. However, it is a common observation that the nobility and respect of profession reduced over the years. But why is it so? What are the factors responsible for this reduction? Here are 5 reasons why teachers have lost their importance in present times: Disclaimer:  Before I mention points, I want to clarify that I have stated these factors concerning mediocre and pathetic institutions only. Many excellent institutes and teachers also exist who are a class apart, and in fact, it is because of them that India is dreaming of becoming a superpower.           1. Commercialization of education:  Over the years the core purpose of education in itself has changed. One should pursue education for learning concepts, facts of the field, and eventually gaining knowledge. Now, getting a job is the only purpose of students joining colleges. Due to this, obtaining marks or grades becomes their so

Four steps to achieve anything

- Pratik Badgujar  6 min read Military Technology development has always been a topic of debate in intellectual circles. It is said that it is luxurious to spend on the military while the basic survival needs of people are not fulfilled. While the counter-argument is that without ensuring the safety of citizens, it is futile to talk about their needs and wants. There have been numerous technological developments that were done for armed forces but later used as solutions for many everyday problems. Here are a few examples: Internet and GPS were initially developed for military usage, and we cannot thank the inventors enough for them! Packaged food was again developed for soldiers and now this has made the lives of so many people easier than before.  Wristwatches were also developed for soldiers first.  Aviator glasses were first developed for aviation aircraft pilots (and hence the name).  Alan Turing’s work on developing the encryption decoding machine during World War II laid the fou

Rafale is not enough!

Image
- Pratik Badgujar   3 Minute Read It is 29th July 2020 today and India has received her first batch of 5 out of 36 Rafale fighter aircraft purchased from France. This inclusion of Rafale will boost the combat capabilities of the Indian Air Force (IAF) significantly. Frankly speaking, I am not much happy at the moment. After all, we have just purchased Rafale and not developed ourselves. I understand that purchasing war equipment is not like buying groceries. A lot of diplomatic touches are required to convince a country to sell its war equipment to us and hence completing a military purchase is a victory of Indian Diplomacy in some sense. Rafale was first inducted in French Navy in 2000 and was inducted in its Air Force in 2008. So, by that standard, we are still at least 12 years behind the French Air Force. In these 12 years, French defense companies/military research must have certainly advanced further. India produces the largest number of engineers in the world. The number o

Best strategy for Success

-          -        -B y  Ch andrashekhar Sangoi & P ratik Badgujar Today, we want to share something which has helped us personally. This is a tool which we have practiced all our years and it has never disappointed us. Once you use this tool, we believe, there is a high degree of surety that you will achieve your goals. However, having appropriate goals in itself is important. A tool is after all just a tool. If used for right purpose, it can benefit you and if misused then it can be drastically damaging too. The tool which we are talking about is a quote by Edwin Markham: “FOR ALL YOUR DAYS BE PREPARED, AND MEET THEM EVER ALIKE. WHEN YOU ARE THE ANVIL, BEAR—WHEN YOU ARE THE HAMMER, STRIKE.” -         EDWIN MARKHAM Ever since we started our journey of self-improvement, this has been one of the most inspiring quotes for us. We came across this quote somewhere back in 2010 and since then it has inspired us time and again whenever we had lows in our journey. The quote

Change.org doesn't Change Anything

- Pratik Badgujar We all have become familiar with the pain that the poor elephant has to go through in Kerala. Very strong reactions have rightly emerged from all factions of society. Among such voices, my friend sent me a link to website which had an online petition for demanding formation of strict laws against such incidents. Here is a chat that followed: I: Are such petitions useful? He: May be but, doing it doesn't harm anyone, and if effective then it will be helpful in some sense at least. I: I believe that such petitions are not very useful as they give a false sense to the signee that "i have done my part". After signing, one doesn't even think about what he/she personally should do about such issues. So, in effect, signing such non-legal petitions is a bad idea. He: It depends on person to person, I am doing because I consider this brutality inhuman and want it to stop, why are you thinking so much? if you sign, it may lead to change, but if y
